Basic Version 6.0

The Medic First Aid Basic, Version 6.0 is a combination CPR/ First Aid course designed for the occupational first aid provider. This program provides students the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to and care for medical emergencies in the workplace.  This is an easy learning, low stress course with lots of hands on practicing.  No written test.

Course Overview

Scene assessment, activation of EMS & MERT, assessing airway, breathing and circulation, foreign body airway obstruction, rescue breathing, one rescuer CPR, control bleeding, shock management, warning signs of illnesses, heat and cold relate exposures, and  the management of  minor and major injuries. Participants receive a successful completion packet that includes a visual skill book, home emergency card, wallet skill guide, wall certificate and a course completion card that is valid for two years.  Recommended course time 5-6 hours.

 

CarePlus (CPR)

The Medic First Aid CarePlus program is a community focused training in adult, child and infant CPR. This program provides students the necessary knowledge and skills to perform resuscitation for victims of all ages who are in cardiac arrest as well as those that have stopped breathing or are choking.

        Course Overview

        Scene assessment, activation of EMS, assessing airway, breathing and circulation, use of barriers,

          foreign body airway obstruction, rescue breathing, one rescuer CPR.

  Participants receive a successful completion packet that includes a visual skill book, home

  emergency card, wallet skill guide, wall certificate and a course completion card that is valid for

  two years.  Recommended course time 3-4 hours.

       

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

This life saving program is geared for those industries that either have a Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) program in-place or for those that are considering to start a PAD program.

Course Overview

Introduction to ventricular fibrillation and the use of defibrillators, Guideline for developing an emergency response plan, CPR review, AED operation, and AED maintenance and troubleshooting. Participants receive a successful completion packet that includes a visual skill book, home emergency card, wallet skill guide, wall certificate and a course completion card that is valid for two years. Recommended course time 2 hours

Typical audience: healthcare providers, firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, corporations, and others that may respond to a cardiac arrest victim. Written and skills evaluations. Prerequisite CPR/Basic Life Support.

 

Emergency Care (First Aid)

The Medic First Aid Emergency Care program is designed to train individuals and corporations in basic first aid care. This program provides students the necessary knowledge and skills to manage medical illnesses and injuries until the arrival of the emergency medical services (EMS).

Course Overview

Scene assessment, control of bleeding, shock management, warning signs of illnesses, heat and cold relate exposures, and  the management of  minor and major injuries. Participants receive a successful completion packet that includes a visual skill book, home emergency card, wallet skill guide, wall certificate and a course completion card that is valid for two years. Recommended course time 3 hours
