Emergency Response Team

An emergency response team (ERT) is a selected group that has been formed to respond to an emergency situation at the workplace. Consulting services are available from SafetyQuest Training Services to assist you form and maintain an emergency response team including help with:

Design

	Types of expected responses
	Number of members needed
	Written plans to outline responses, procedures, membership, training, equipment

Implementation

	Recruit members
	Equipment and supplies to purchase
	Training of members - typically in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Oxygen administration, AED

Maintenance

	Monthly meetings
	Yearly re-training

AED Program Management

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a device that can deliver an electric shock (defibrillation) to a victim of sudden cardiac arrest that is suffering from a heart rhythm disorder called ventricular fibrillation (VF). By providing immediate treatment, you can dramatically increase the victim's chances of survival. With minimal training, anyone can be a lifesaver and the latest AEDs are remarkably lightweight and simple to use.

	Ideal location of AEDs
	Type of AED that best fits your needs

Implementation

	AEDs and supplies to purchase and install
	Obtaining physician oversight
