National Programs We Teach: |
American Heart Association® CoursesHeartsaver: This program is intended for the general public. Students receive information about prudent heart living, risk factors, chain of survival, heart attacks, strokes, as well as appropriate steps to take for a victim of cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking. During this 4-6 hour course student will receive lots of hands on manikin practice. Upon completion of course, students receive a course completion card valid for 2 years. Health-Care Provider: This course is designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals who respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies. During this course, students will receive the latest information on strokes, hands on practice of adult and pediatric one & two rescuer CPR, foreign body airway obstruction, use of barrier devices, and automated external defibrillation. Typical audience: healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, EMT/P, and other professionals whose job require completion of a written evaluation and successful skills performance. Upon completion of course, students receive a course completion card valid for 2 years.
Heartsaver - Automated External Defibrillation (AED): This life saving program is geared for those industries that either have a Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) program in-place or for those that are considering to start a PAD program. Typical audience: healthcare providers, firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, corporations, and others that may respond to a cardiac arrest victim. Written and skills evaluations. Upon completion of course, students receive a course completion card valid for 2 years. Course Overview: Students will learn how to recognize signs & symptoms of a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and foreign body airway obstruction. Learn the basic hands on techniques of adult CPR, the use of an AED, barrier devices and first aid for a choking victim.
